ELECTRODEIONIZATION (EDI)

Electrodeionization is a process of removing ions from the water using mixed bed ion exchange resin in the combination with electrical current. Electrical current in the EDI device is used to initiate the continuous migration of ions from the feed water through the resin bed into the drainage channel.
Electrical current also separates water to the hydronium and hydroxyl ions that are continuously regenerated in the resin bed.
EDI is a cost-effective replacement for the conventional mixed resins that are used in systems for demineralization of water and it constantly produces water with very low electrical conductivity of < 0.1 μS/cm.
